Your first child on the way? 4 tips to make your life easier!

Your first child on the way? 4 tips to make your life easier!

Expecting your first child is very exciting because everything is still completely new. Many things will naturally fall into place and you will be surprised at how smoothly and flexibly everything goes. However, there are some things it is better to be prepared for. In this blog article, we will provide you with a number of useful tips so that you can start parenting well prepared!

Tip 1: Decide what kind of food you want to give

Maybe you would like to breastfeed your baby, maybe you prefer bottle-feeding. Both are perfectly fine as long as your child gets enough nutrition and is happy. However, when bottle-feeding, it is wise to think beforehand about the type of food you would like to give your child. Once your child is born, you are in a much more hectic situation than you would expect, which means you have less time to get to grips with such matters. Do you want to be well prepared? Then read up on it beforehand and decide which formula you want to use. HIPP milk is a bottle formula that is suitable for almost all babies. Specialised in organic food, you can be sure that your baby is getting the best. You can find the HIPP baby formula online at the Dutch Baby shop.

Tip 2: Which clothes should I buy in advance?

We know better than anyone how much fun it is to already pick out clothes for your newborn. However, we would like to warn you not to buy too many clothes in the smallest sizes. Babies grow like crazy and the clothes will no longer fit them in no time. The newborn sizes will no longer fit after one or two weeks, so it is not advisable to buy a lot of these. Focus on clothes your baby can grow in and you will save yourself a lot of money and effort. Ofcourse it is great when your child looks nice but the money you spend on clothes you can probably also spend on other nice things for your child.

Tip 3: Socks, socks and more socks

Baby socks are the garment that always mysteriously disappear. They often fall off your baby’s feet and get lost very quickly during washing. This way, after a while you can hardly find your baby’s socks in the cupboard. A smart move is to buy a lot of socks in the same colour, so you can always find two matching socks.

Tip 4: Distract your baby while clipping its nails

Your baby’s nails will also need to be trimmed from time to time. This can be quite a task, with those wriggling little arms and legs. Babies are not known for being able to sit still for long. What can help is to make funny noises while you’re cutting the nails. This will distract your little one and allow him to focus on your voice!
